New species, genera and a family of hermit crabs (Crustacea, Anomura, Paguroidea) from a mid-Cretaceous reef of Navarra, northern Spain

Abstract:
Two new paguroids, Cretatrizocheles olazagutiensis n. gen., n. sp. and Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni n. gen., n. sp., both based on carapaces, are described and added to the very diverse mid-Cretaceous (Albian-Cenomanian) decapod crustacean fauna of the reefal deposits near Alsasua (Navarra, northern Spain). The description of Annuntidiogenes worfi is emended on the basis of a newly discovered, much more complete carapace. Mesoparapylocheles n. gen. is a member of the Parapylochelidae n. fam., whereas Cretatrizocheles n. gen. is a member of the Trizochelinae. These species show that the linea transversalis, introduced by neontologists for a groove lateral and/or posterior to the cervical groove, is an evolved part of the branchiocardiac groove.
Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni got its name because it was discovered on the day that singer Michael Jackson died.

Universiteit geeft Jackson-college

Ter gelegenheid van Michael Jacksons verjaardag op 29 augustus, biedt Clark Atlanta University een vak dat ingaat op zijn culturele nalatenschap. Ex- entertainmentadvocaat James Walker geeft het college.
Michael Jackson:The Business of Music leert je hoe zijn succes zo groot werd: door onderhandelingen, vastgoed, deals en filmprojecten.”We willen studenten die in de entertainmentindustrie willen werken, als artiest, advocaat, manager of wat dan ook, helpen”, zegt Walker.
De universiteit is de eerste die een vak over Jackson op masterniveau geeft. Jackson overleed drie jaar geleden.
