On August 8, 2011 the sixth Dodo Expedition started in Mauritius.
Up to and including 19 August, expedition leader Kenneth Rijsdijk, a physical geographer at the University of Amsterdam, will work with a multidisciplinary team at investigating interesting aspects of this unique ecosystem. New this year is the reconstruction of the musculoskeletal system of the dodo and biochemical analysis of the bones from which we learn more about the diet of the dodo.
