Dutch red kite fledged

This is a red kite video.

1 September 2008.

From Natuurmonumenten in the Netherlands:

This summer, a red kite couple has nested in one of the nature reserves of Natuurmonumenten in the East of Groningen province. Never before had this raptor species managed to raise a chick in the North of the Netherlands. …

It turned out to be one chick. This young raptor has managed to fledge successfully.

An endangered bird of prey [red kite] reintroduced to Northern Ireland after a 200-year absence has been found shot dead, it emerged yesterday: here.

Southern birds to the Netherlands, because of climate change: here.
