Emperor penguin in New Zealand getting better


This is a TV video on young emperor penguinHappy Feet“, a vagrant to New Zealand.

The bird is recovering from illness, and is expected to be sent back to Antarctic waters where it belongs, in about a month’s time.

August 2011. Forest & Bird have welcomed the upcoming official opening of the Tawharanui Marine Reserve north of Auckland but warned it was a drop in the ocean compared with what is needed to give adequate protection to New Zealand’s marine life: here.
