  1. Israeli spook ‘tried to get to Libya’

Egypt: Two members of Israel’s diplomatic mission to Cairo saw suspected Mossad agent Ilan Grapel on Tuesday and found him to be in good health, Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor reported yesterday.

Mr Grapel, a US-born Israeli citizen, was arrested at a Cairo hotel on Sunday and accused of sedition and inciting sectarian unrest during the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak in February.

Egyptian daily al-Ahram cited security officials on Tuesday as saying that Mr Grapel had planned to get from Egypt to an insurgent stronghold in eastern Libya.
