  1. Bloggers: Junta must probe abuse

    Egypt: Bloggers will hold a “day of online protest” tomorrow to put pressure on the ruling junta to investigate the abuse of protesters – including claims that soldiers subjected female detainees to “virginity tests.”

    The claims were highlighted in a recent Amnesty International report, which said 18 arrested women protesters reported being threatened with prostitution charges and forced to undergo the tests. They also say they were beaten and given electric shocks.
