On 17 May, a night of music, comedy, and poetry at the theatre.
First, music by Eelt! Niels on guitar and vocals, and Rutger sometimes on trombone, sometimes on bass guitar or guitar.
Then, poems by Sees Snikkers; who has translated the poem Endymion by John Keats into Dutch..
Then, a column by yours truly, about xenophobia and history.
Then, there would have been stand-up comedy by Bart-Jan Arkies; however, he was unable to come.
So, Sees Snikkers read some more poems.
Finally, music by The Kelvinators. Bass player Inge (smaller than her acoustic standing bass) and two guys on guitar and drums; all three of them on vocals. Their first song was She’s the one, by the Ramones.
This music video is called Kelvinators Singing the Blues in Paradiso 2008.
Music making may help keep mind in tune
in old age:
Longtime playing of a musical instrument may help
keep your mind sharp as others’ start going flat,
research suggests.
