London anti-Swaziland dictatorship protest tomorrow

Against at least one of the dictators invited to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in England, there will be a protest.

Africa’s only absolute monarch King Mswati III of Swaziland is in London for the Royal Wedding. Whilst almost two thirds of Swazis live in absolute poverty, denied their rights, King Mswati and his entourage will be celebrating, at undoubtedly great cost with the Swazi people paying in one of London’s most exclusive hotels. Please if you can join the vigil on Saturday evening. If you can spare 30 minutes or an hour please come along. Whether you can attend or not do spread the word, get others to come. Let’s ensure the King and his guests get the message. Democracy and rights for Swaziland NOW!

Democracy and rights in Swaziland

The people of Swaziland suffer from extreme poverty (almost two thirds of the population live on less than $1.25 a day) and more than 1 in 4 Swazis are living with HIV and AIDS. Swaziland is Africa’s only autocratic absolute monarchy. Political parties are banned, political and civic activists are imprisoned, and the judiciary, media and other authoritative bodies are controlled by the monarchy.
