Translated from NOS TV in the Netherlands:
Sultan of Oman dismisses two ministers
Added: Saturday, 5 March 2011, 15:59
The sultan of Oman Qabus has dismissed two ministers, after the demonstrations in recent days against the regime. The demonstrators demand reforms and an end to corruption.
The sultan last week made some promises and then fired six ministers. Despite this, the protests continued, the protesters demand the resignation of all ministers.
Queen Beatrix [of the Netherlands] would start tomorrow a three-day state visit to Oman, but that was canceled because of the unrest in the country. But on Tuesday night she will be in Oman for a private dinner with Sultan Qabus.
Another NOS item says Crown Prince Willem Alexander and Crown Princess Maxima will be at the Tuesday private dinner as well.
