Mogadishu hit by cholera epidemic
Somalia: A growing cholera outbreak in war-ravaged Mogadishu has killed more than 20 people and infected more than 2,000.
Dr Lul Mohamed said on Saturday that Banadir Maternity Hospital had seen more than 2,000 cholera patients since the beginning of February and that the disease was spreading rapidly.
In the past 48 hours the hospital had received 180 people affected by the highly contagious disease, which is easily preventable with clean water and sanitation, she said.
