Freedom of speech carried a dear price for the Georgian opposition, which attempted to perform an unsanctioned nocturnal rally in the center of the capital – only to find out the truth hides within a police club.

Georgia has lost a case in the European Court of Human Rights to a unanimous verdict over the treatment and death of Zurab Tsintsabadze who, they say, was murdered in 2005 Khoni prison and whose murder was then covered up and made to look like a suicide, possibly or probably with the co-operation of corrupt officials.
The cover up was then compounded by a 2006 decision to ignore evidence from a prisoner about the murder.
