Stop torturing WikiLeaks whistleblower

This video from the USA is called PFC Bradley Manning Being Held In Torture Like Conditions.

Thirty miles from downtown Washington DC, the US military is engaged in the torture of Army Private Bradley Manning, jailed on suspicion of leaking classified documents to the whistleblower web site WikiLeaks: here.

Zaid Jilani, ThinkProgress: “Last May, the military arrested Private First Class Bradley Manning, a military intelligence officer who had served overseas in Iraq, over charges that he was involved in leaking numerous classified documents and videos to the Wikileaks whistleblowing group, including a video of a U.S. attack helicopter killing numerous unarmed journalists. Since his arrests, numerous civil liberties groups and investigative journalists have protested the conditions under which Manning is being held, noting that he has been kept in solitary confinement and is denied even access to a pillow or bed sheets. This is particularly shocking in light of new information revealed that Manning was suspected of having poor mental health before he was deployed to Iraq, with some superiors even requesting that he not be given firearms…. Now, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates inquiring about Manning’s condition, protesting the Army’s treatment of him, and requesting a visit with the imprisoned solider”: here.

Mark Seibel, McClatchy Newspapers: “The FBI said Thursday that it had served more than 40 search warrants throughout the United States as part of an investigation into computer attacks on websites of businesses that stopped providing services in December to WikiLeaks. The FBI statement announcing the search warrants was the first indication that the U.S. intends to prosecute the so-called ‘hacktivists’ for their actions in support of WikiLeaks”: here.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation carried out 40 raids January 27 as part of the ongoing campaign to suppress WikiLeaks and its supporters. Also on Thursday British police arrested five young men in connection with the same case: here.
