Members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra have gone on strike against demands by management that include a 33 percent cut in base pay. The World Socialist Web Site spoke to several musicians participating in a picket on October 4.

Striking members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be joined by members of the Cleveland Symphony in a show of solidarity at an October 24 support concert. The walkout by DSO musicians against massive concession demands is entering its third week.
