US drones kill Pakistani children

US drones have blitzed a Pakistani region bordering Afghanistan, killing at least 18 people, including four children, in the fourth US strike in 24 hours in the area: here.

MIRAMSHAH: Fourteen suspected militants and four children were killed when US drones carried out three attacks in North Waziristan on Wednesday.

  1. Five more die in US drone attack

    Pakistan: The 14th US drone attack this month killed at least five people in the north-west yesterday.

    The exact identity of the victims was not revealed, but anonymous sources claimed that the target had been the house of a local militant in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, close to the Afghan border.

    At least 65 people have now been killed by US drone attacks in September – making it the deadliest ever for the remote-controlled weapons.

    Three US drone attacks have killed more than 25 people in South Waziristan.

    The missiles hit the tribal areas along the Pakistan Afghan border.

    Drones first attacked an area near Angor Adda where at least seven people were killed.

    In a strike soon after, a drone targeted a funeral which was being held in the Azam Warsak region for victims of the first strike.

    There were later reports of a third strike that killed multiple people.

    Anti-drone rallies have recently been held in North Waziristan, where US forces have been in pursuit of Taliban targets.
