The casualty toll in Bangkok has risen to four dead and 53 wounded in clashes between anti-government demonstrators and government security forces, emergency officials said Friday.

Thai troops have fired live ammunition at anti-government protesters in the heart of Bangkok, but the army drive to clear the streets sparked clashes that have killed five and wounded 81: here.

At least 10 people have been killed and 125 wounded over the past two days after the Thai military sealed off all access to the anti-government protest site in Bangkok: here.
