What was the worst science in 2008? According to Dutch daily NRC and its science editor Ellen de Bruin, it was United States psychologists helping with the torture of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and secret CIA prisons in Europe. Ms de Bruin says it was bad science in two ways: it was criminal. And confessions by torture are worthless, as tortured people will confess things which they have never done.

It is always a bit risky to review a year before it’s completely finished, as much may happen during its last days. I have plans to review some things about this blog in 2008; however, I intend to wait till early 2009 for that.
