Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda announced Monday that he will step down due to a political stalemate in implementing key policies amid sagging support ratings for his cabinet, putting an end to his government launched less than one year ago. …
Fukuda, who took over the government from Shinzo Abe on Sept 26, has been struggling with dismal support rates despite a major cabinet reshuffle he implemented in August.
