  1. Obama supporters are always trying to give the false impression that Obama has soooo many people who want him … but, in reality, in both the primaries, and in this general election, Obama cannot get more than half of the voters. Actually, Palin has more experience and qualifications than Obama. Obama was a community organizer, with no executive experience, who has spent most of his short term as a senator, running for President. Palin, a mayor, and a governor, has already stood up to special interests and big oil companies, while Obama has not shown any kahonies yet, except for when he threw his friend, advisor and mentor of 20 years, under the bus. If Palin could get 90% of the women’s vote, because she is a woman … just like Obama gets 90% of the black vote, because he is black … it would be good for our country.

  2. Hi Gina … IF your name really is Gina … Your e-mail address has made another pro McCain comment elsewhere on this blog. However, then under the name “Howard”. Another McCain supporter, only one person, used at least four different names all in the same discusion thread of this blog. So, I am under the distinct impression that McCain suppporters, at least those commenting on this blog, are few, but want to give the impression that they are many by using multiple names. Many webmasters give people doing that an IP ban. You’re very lucky, “Gina”/’Howard” that I am in a good mood today, so you are getting one last chance.

Re: Obama, most on your comment is about Obama, though the post is about Palin. Palin “standing up to big oil”? really? How about the Stevens scandal of the Alaska Republicans? Palin will never get 90% of the women’s vote, as most women are pro choice on reproductive rights for women; and most women are not gay bashers like Palin.

    Dear Friends,

As we write, thousands of activists are gathering in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul in preparation for a week of protest during the Republican National Convention.

Over the past three days, these activists have been targets of police raids, brutality, and media distortion. Salon reports, “Protesters here in Minneapolis have been targeted by a series of highly intimidating, sweeping police raids across the city, involving teams of 25-30 officers in riot gear, with semi-automatic weapons drawn, entering homes of those suspected of planning protests, handcuffing and forcing them to lay on the floor, while law enforcement officers searched the homes, seizing computers, journals, and political pamphlets.” (from http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/08/30/police_raids/index.html)

These arrests, days before the beginning of the Republican National Convention, are an attempt to undercut turn-out at the legally permitted anti-war rally planned for Monday, Sept. 1, organized by March on RNC Coalition. The event, which is expected to be massive, will gather at the State Capitol and march to the RNC Convention site. The police, acting on orders from the RNC, clearly intend to use tactics of fear and intimidation to impact the days of protest that have been planned by hundreds of justice and anti-war organizations for more than a year.

It is more important than ever, in the face of the outrageous harassment and illegal arrests, to support ALL the protesters in St Paul this week.

Take a minute and send a message in support – go to http://www.troopsoutnow.org/rnc08protestrights.shtml.

Police have claimed that protesters intend to engage in acts of violence, but the only criminal and violent acts taking place in the Twin Cities are those being committed by the Ramsey County sheriff’s office and the Minneapolis and St. Paul police departments. The illegal and excessive raids, conducted by SWAT teams armed with automatic weapons; the mass preemptive roundups of dissenters; and the attempt to label all protesters as criminals are tactics clearly intended to silence protest. We will not be deterred or intimidated by these tactics.

Please join us in standing up to Bush-McCain-RNC police state tactics. A delegation of Troops Out Now Coalition activists is in Minneapolis-St. Paul and will be participating in the many protests during the week of Sept. 1-4. If you are in the area, please join us–look for Troops Out Now Coalition banners and placards.

Whether you are able to join us in the streets or not, you can still stand with us against police repression. Please sign the petition at http://www.troopsoutnow.org/rnc08protestrights.shtml.

Demand: Stop Illegal Raids and Arrests! Protest is not a crime!

Bush Admin Insider Slams Cheney: “he’ll corrupt the whole country to
save it” – Bush History, 11/3

A former Bush insider slams VP Cheney, saying “he’ll corrupt the whole
country to save it”. Top Colin Powell aid Larry Wilkerson explains how
Geneva Convention violations and Constitutional abuse flowed from
Cheney’s office. Also, John Kerry concedes Ohio and the presidency.
Ohio: a state where Bush’s campaign head was also the man in charge of
insuring a fair vote. No conflict of interest there!

Dishonest, Reprehensible Cheney calls Bush Critics “dishonest and
    reprehensible” – Bush History, 11/16

Cheney said on this date that claims that the Bush admin misled us on
Iraq were “one of the most dishonest and reprehensible charges ever
aired in this city”. The nerve! (as my mother would say). Read more on
how Cheney himself abandonded his responsibility to look at ALL the
evidence and instead presented a misleading case to the American
people. Also a related Bushism, and the wisdom of Ben F and Harry
    Truman
