Music, magic and poetry

This is a music video of Katherine Leese singing Day in, Day Out.

On 22 April, a night at the theatre with music, magic, and poetry.

First, there was poetry by Ronald da Costa. The subjects of his poems included the 1950s and the Dutch Sinterklaas holiday.

Then, music by Katherine Leese on piano and guitar (and Jeroen on percussion). Born in New Zealand, now living in the Netherlands, her first song poked fun at believing in reincarnation.

Then, stories were told by two members of the Leidse vertelkring. First, a story about tyrants, by Louwrens Hessel. Then, one about frogs, by Marije van der Kooij.

Then, in the pause, moving about among the audience, stage magician Tilman Andris.

Yours truly, after the pause, read a column about author Hugo Claus.

Finally, music, on piano, kazoo, and vocals, by Merel Hutten; born in Udenhout, now living in Amsterdam.
