International Women’s Day march in London

This video from the USA says about itself:

Angela Davis, now of UC Santa Cruz, returns to her alma mater to deliver an engaging talk on “Wars Against Women – Past, Present, and Future?”

Million Women Rise demo – 8th March 2008

This coming Saturday is International Women’s Day and to celebrate that day there will be a women-only demo, Million Women Rise that will be marching from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square.

Demonstrators are to meet at 12 noon, North Carriage, Cumberland Gates near speaker’s corner.

There will be a rally afterwards speakers include Southall Black Sisters (SBS), Women’s Aid, Women in Prison, Caroline Lucas and one of my own women heroes, Angela Davis.

This is a fantastic way for women to come together and to make our collective voices heard especially on a day like International Women’s Day.

Hope to see leftie women, the more the better and I certainly will be attending.

Clara Zetkin: here.
