From the Canadian Press:

– Canadian troops in Afghanistan could face a new brand of insurgency as the civilian death toll rises as a result of military operations.

Frightened residents in one Kandahar village say tension is brewing after Canadian troops fired on civilians in an apparent accident a few days before Christmas.

A 12-year-old boy says he was there when soldiers shot and killed his father and seven-year-old brother who were carrying shovels as they tended their crops.

A man who has since been taking care of the boy’s family says such incidents are beginning to inspire people to hit back at coalition forces as a form of blood debt.
