Woodpeckers and fungi

This is a video of a great spotted woodpecker and of debris he leaves under trees.

Today, to the same Hoorneboeg nature reserve as yesterday, but a bit more to the south.

A flock of scores of Northern lapwings flying over the forest.

In the tops of birch trees, great spotted woodpeckers. They are one of four woodpecker species living here. The three others are: lesser spotted woodpecker; green woodpecker; and black woodpecker.

Sounds of a buzzard calling.

Various fungi, including turkey tail.

And coral spot.

Just before we leave, a numerous circle of winter stalkballs.
