Today, there was a Claudio Monteverdi concert at Utrecht cathedral.
The Vespro della Beata Vergine was played by the choir and orchestra of the cathedral.
In the orchestra today were two violins, two alto violins, one cello, one bass, two dulcians, three trombones, two lutes, and two basso continuo players.
There were also two flute players, Sacha Mommertz (who also played solo here last week), and Suzanne van der Helm.
According to at least one visitor, the acoustics of this church work better for flute than for vocals.
