This is a BBC Newsnight video on the encroachment of creationism into British schools.

Now you just have to love these Creationism freaks … they have actually opened a museum the sole purpose of which is to advance the theory of Creationism over evolution.

This is a real museum, with real floors and doors and people operating it .. it is not a joke.

Well, it’s not a joke to them, but it may be to some of the rest of us.

But a dangerous joke, and I am not laughing….there are generations of children being home-schooled and taught that evolution is an unproven theory and Creationism is a reality.

Forget that the other word for “religion” is “faith,” meaning that this is what you believe … not what can be proved.

These people KNOW what is, and they would cheerfully burn the rest of us at the stake for not accepting their “superior” “knowledge.”

They hired a PORN actor to play Adam, as in Adam and Eve … yeah, I think porn actors are in the Bible [sarcasm off].

Maybe Jeff Gannon/James Guckert [see also here] wasn’t available.

What is it with the “religious” right freaks and their love of sexual “irregularities”?

And why are so many “religious” right leaders rounded up and arrested for sexual “irregularities”?

Is their “religious” fervor just a COVER for their “irregular” sexual exploits (pedophilia, adultery, etc.)?

But, I am wandering off-topic here.

If you want to go to the Creation Museum, it is in Petersburg, Kentucky (a few miles from Cincinnati).

At the $27 million *Creation Museum* evolution gets its continual comeuppance, while biblical revelations are treated as gospel.”

The Creationism freaks believe God created Earth a short 6,000 years ago and that dinosaurs and man roamed the Earth at the same time.

All scientific evidence proves a very different timeline, but what is science to the true-believers?

Scientists say fossils and sophisticated nuclear dating technology show that Earth is more than 4 billion years old, the first dinosaurs appeared around 200 million years ago, and they died out well before the first human ancestors arose a few million years ago.

The man picked as Adam by a museum based on the Bible’s version of Earth’s history led quite a different life outside the Garden of Eden, flaunting his sexual exploits online and modeling for a line of clothing with an explicit mascot.

Registration records show that Eric Linden, who portrays Adam taking his first breath in a film at the newly opened Creation Museum, owns a graphic Web site called Bedroom Acrobat.

He has been pictured there, smiling alongside a drag queen, in a T-shirt brandishing the site’s
sexually suggestive logo.

Linden, a graphic designer, model and actor, also sells clothing for SFX International, whose initials appear on clothing to spell “SEX” from afar and serve as an abbreviation for its mascot, who promotes “free love,” “pleasure” and “Thrillz.”

  1. European rights body calls off creationism vote
    Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:57AM EDT

    By Gilbert Reilhac

STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) – Europe’s main human rights body on Monday cancelled a scheduled vote on banning creationist and intelligent design views from school science classes, saying the proposed resolution was one-sided.

The resolution, which the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly was due to vote on Tuesday, said attacks on the theory of evolution were rooted “in forms of religious extremism” and amounted to a dangerous attack on scientific knowledge.

Believers in creationism or intelligent design argue that some life forms are too complex to have evolved in accordance with Charles Darwin’s theory.

Some conservative groups in the United States, both religious and secular, have long opposed the teaching of Darwinian evolution in public schools but U.S. courts have regularly barred them from teaching religious views of creation.

Pressure to teach creationism is weaker in Europe, but an Assembly committee got active because a Muslim creationist book has appeared in several countries.

Guy Lengagne, the French Socialist member of the Assembly who drew up the report, protested after the Parliamentary Assembly voted to call off the debate and vote, and to send the report back to committee for further study.

“I have enough experience of parliamentary procedure to know that this is a first-class burial (for the report),” he said.

Deputies said the motion by the Christian Democratic group of parliamentarians also won support from east European deputies, who recalled that Darwinian evolution was a favorite theory of their former communist rulers.

While Darwin said mankind evolved through natural selection, creationism says God made the world and all life in six days, as depicted in the Bible. Polls show about half of all Americans agree with this while most Europeans support evolution.

Supporters of the intelligent design view want it taught in science class along with evolution. A U.S. court ruled this out in a landmark decision in 2005, dismissing this more recent argument as “neo-creationism.”

The proposed resolution said the Council of Europe’s 47 member states should “firmly oppose the teaching of creationism as a scientific discipline on an equal footing with the theory of evolution by natural selection”.

“The teaching of all phenomena concerning evolution as a fundamental scientific theory is therefore crucial to the future of our societies and our democracies,” it said.

The resolution would not have been binding on member states.
