A US judge has sentenced former key White House official Lewis Libby to 30 months in prison.
Libby was found guilty of obstruction of justice and perjury in March over the investigation into the unmasking of CIA officer Valerie Plame.
Libby was the former chief of staff to Vice-President Dick Cheney.

Library mug shot exhibit of Bush administration called ‘political attack’

An art exhibit at the New York Public Library of six doctored police mug shots of Bush administration officials, including the U.S. president himself, is drawing fire from Republican party brass.
The mug shots feature Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Bush adviser Karl Rove, former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and former Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
Matthew Walter, spokesman for the New York Republican State Committee, says it’s wrong for an institution that receives government funding to participate in political satire.
“It is simply inappropriate to have political attack in the form of egregious doctored photographs of the president and other high-ranking officials who have dedicated their lives to public service in a taxpayer-funded building frequented by schoolchildren and the general public,” he said Friday.
The photos by artists Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese were put up at the library’s main Fifth Avenue branch as part of a privately-financed exhibit called Line Up.
Each photo comes with a date that indicates the time each official spoke about Iraq in ways the artists consider criminal. It includes sound clips of them speaking, with a camera flash going off and a prison door closing.

President George W. Bush is depicted holding a slate that says “Washington DC Police” and the date 1.28.2003. The date refers to his State of the Union address in which he stated: “Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa … He clearly has much to hide.”
Visitor Jim Strifler of Louisiana said he was surprised when he came upon the photos.
“It’s a library. Maybe this would be okay for a museum, but this is supposed to be neutral ground,” he told the New York Daily News.
The library says it doesn’t see anything wrong with the exhibit, which runs until Jan. 27.
“It’s the mission of the library to document what’s happening in the culture, and this is an artist’s response to what’s happening to the world around them,” said Herb Shaer, a library spokesman.
In a statement released to media, the library also said the exhibit, showcasing 23 artists from around the world, features a range of subject matters and therefore “has no political agenda.”
“The work described in the media has been presented out of context and is not a complete or fair representation of the entire exhibition.”
