CRITICAL FIJI BLOGGER QUESTIONED, STUDENTS WARNED

SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, May 31) – A senior administration officer with Fiji’s Public Service Commission is the latest person to be questioned by army officers in relation to anti-army and anti government blogs.

Land Force Commander Colonel Pita Driti confirmed the civil servant was suspected to be one of the bloggers.

Filipe Nagera was questioned yesterday.

Attempts to obtain comments from PSC chairman Rishi Ram and Nagera were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile Driti warned students at the University of the South Pacific that if they were responsible for contributing to the blog spots their Fijian Affairs Board scholarships would be terminated.

It is understood several students were questioned by the army on Tuesday.

Driti said the students would be tracked down.

Several blog spots have been condemned by the military claiming their contents are “incitant” and a threat to national security.
