Do ring-necked parakeets drive away native birds?

Not according to findings in Leiden in The Netherlands:

Quite the contrary: the green woodpecker in 2003 has nested in the Bos van Bosman [in Leiden] in the same tree with the parakeet.

And in 2004, the great spotted woodpecker did that elsewhere in the city.
