The BBC says:
Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to announce a timetable for the withdrawal of UK troops from Iraq.
Mr Blair is due to make a statement about the 7,000 British troops serving in Iraq at the Commons on Wednesday.
The BBC’s James Landale said 1,500 troops were expected to return home in months, rising to 3,000 by Christmas.
Downing Street has not confirmed the reports but Whitehall sources have told the BBC the process could be slowed down if the situation in Iraq worsens.
Blair’s boss, George W. Bush, just escalating the Iraq war with his ‘surge’, will not like that behaviour by his poodle Tony … IF this BBC prediction turns out to be true.
It may be not.
On the other hand, even a sociopath like Blair, very much isolated from the real word, maybe cannot keep going on forever to neglect reality on the ground in Britain, as, eg, it will manifest itself at the big peace demonstration of 24 February in London …
The peace movement will need very much to keep on the pressure, until the war, Blair, and Blairism, are finished for ever.
