Two snail species, new for The Netherlands, have been discovered.

They are a recent imigrant, the originally southern European land snail Xerotricha apicina (Lamarck, 1822), discovered for the first time in The Netherlands in a coastal dune area near IJmuiden (Noord-Holland province).

And Balea heydeni, a species which has been in The Netherlands for a long time, but had not been recognized as a separate species due to similarity with another species.
