USA: helicopter saves deer stranded on ice

White-tailed deerBy Laura Hastings:

19 January 2007

A news helicopter rescued a deer that was stranded on the thin ice of an Oklahoma lake.

The downdraft from the helicopter’s churning blades gently blew the distressed animal across the ice to solid ground.

See the video here.

As far as I know, it is a white-tailed deer (see also here).

Entangled deer freed: here.

White-tailed deer and mule deer: here.
