We talk politics and religion with legendary artist Joel Peter Witkin… He explains one of his newest photographs “The Raft of George Bush”.

The photographer Joel-Peter Witkin from the United States made ‘The Raft of George W. Bush’.

Witkin writes:

“The Raft of George W. Bush” is a contemporary “Ship of Fools” which has as its pictorial basis, the “Medusa” by Gericault.

Bush sits lost in his grand ideas, shown as small electric lights.

Gericault’s “The Raft of the Medusa” is considered a pioneer Romantic work of painting.
