From Natuurmonumenten in The Netherlands:
Research institute Alterra from Wageningen has discovered in nature reserve De Wieden (in Overijssel province) the mite species Arrenurus berolinensis.
This arthropod was found earlier all over the world just twice, in 1896 and 1907.
The discovery in De Wieden is the third one ever. …
The scientists found four males and one female.
Never before a female of this arthropod had been found.
The rare mite was seen in 1896 Berlin (=berolinensis) and in 1907 in the Russian enclave Kaliningrad.
