The world is moving towards the day when the sleeper will awaken. I’ve literally cried all day just watching the images from Africa being shown on Live 8. And sometimes those tears were of joy as well, because I am overwhelmed by the sincerity being shown by so many performers. The world is watching the G8 and they have to be feeling the momentum of a global community bound by conscience.

But the trouble is that the rich countries are too busy finacing murdering people in Iraq to give a damn about poor people, least of allbrown people in Iraq. Sorry I am a bit cynical now, especially since I just posted two more stories from the Guardian..one talking about the existence of more “torture resorts” in Iraq. Still it is good to see protests…all governments should be ashamed of turning a blind eye to those people in Africa, especially the Sudan.

The only way to fix the damge, done so far, it to speak up and to tell the truth….only through our voices will we affect change.

Live 8 was watched by 5 billion people according to Sir Bob Geldolf. Do you really think that those 8 leaders can simply ignore the tsunami of ill will that will be brought to bare should they continue on their current course? I recognize they aren’t the brightest bunch, but even these dim bulbs have got to see what’s a brewing.

    Hi Desnee and dcontrol,

2 July with Live 8 and the Edinburgh demonstration is not the end, but the beginning of the struggle: tomorrow, action against the nuclear military base in Scotland … 6 July demonstration at Gleneagles (G8 conference) … and on, after that! I ‘ll try to keep on posting news here.

The false counts are why demonstrators in DC now have people assigned to go through the crowds to have protestors document they were there. If left to government and the cointel media to count we’d never have more than 1000 people at any given event.

Yes, official counts are very often deliberately too low.

The theme for my blog is really about how government has manipulated facts throughout US history. For me how it plays out in race relations is the highest priority. But everything they touch they taint from schools to the environment. Americans are sleepwalking when they wake they will find the nightmare created in their (our) name.
