Blair’s Chief Fund-Raiser Arrested in Probe, BBC Says (Update2)
July 12 (Bloomberg) — Michael Levy, one of the chief fund-raisers for Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Labour Party, was arrested in connection with a police probe into whether the government sold seats in the House of Lords for political donations.
The arrest today in London was the second since March, when an investigation began into links between 12 businessmen who lent Labour 14 million pounds ($25 million).
Four were later nominated to the upper chamber of Parliament.
