A Photo exhibition called “Surface” by Liza Nguyen has opened in the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of War Evidences.

Liza Nguyen was born in France to a Vietnamese father and French mother.

She holds Masters degrees in Plastic Arts and Photography from French Universities.

The exhibition includes 11 photos of soil samples, which she collected from different battlefields in Vietnam in 2004.

Liza Nguyen said her exhibition shows a new way of looking at the wars in Vietnam.

The memory of the war is not necessarily to be kept in museums, as it in every inch of soil and road in the country.

Soil is very important to Vietnamese people.

They have fought many wars to protect it.

Most Vietnamese people have strong attachment to the earth, and when they die they are buried in soil as well.

The exhibition is open until July 16.
