Biggest Threat to World Peace: The United States
International polls shows that world, including significant portion of Americans, deem US as greatest obstacle to peace
– Sarah Lazare, staff writer
Over 12 years into the so-called “Global War on Terror,” the United States appears to be striking terror into the hearts of the rest of the world.
In their annual End of Year survey, Win/Gallup International found that the United States is considered the number one “greatest threat to peace in the world today” by people across the globe.
The poll of 67,806 respondents from 65 countries found that the U.S. won this dubious distinction by a landslide, as revealed in the chart below.
The BBC explains that the U.S. was deemed a threat by geopolitical allies as well as foes, including a significant portion of U.S. society.
Predictable in some areas (the Middle East and North Africa) but less so in others. Eastern Europe’s 32% figure may be heavily influenced by Russia and Ukraine, but across most of Western Europe there are also lots of figures in the high teens.
In the Americas themselves, decades of US meddling have left an awkward legacy. Its neighbours, Mexico (37%) and Canada (17%), clearly have issues. Even 13% of Americans see their own country as a danger.

About 1900, the military expenses of the British empire were higher than of the USA.
Today, however, the USA is #1 in world military expenditure. The UK is #4:

Although the stat you mention is America is putting more money in to implements of war, my point is the culture of Britain, is what makes them so dangerous, sometimes the poison of certain substances are extremely low, yet they may well be far more toxic, as the British culture is far older than American culture, the insidious nature of this country has polluted the psyche of not only America but the world we live in. In other words the militaristic vindictive nature of the British class that promotes violence is such that they now need to to revaluate this condition for a more positive outcome that is more suitable for the world we now live in, to resolving issues not by militaristic force but reason, it is not the fault the British elite are unable to come to a more intelligent position, it is their self indoctrination that makes them impotent.

Dear Partner,
Since the United Nations determined in 1960 that colonialism is a crime against humanity, there is no longer a need for plebiscites. The solution is to give Puerto Rico her sovereignty.
But being the United States government does not want to, it continues to advocate the use of plebiscites to find out what Puerto Ricans want. Even if 100% of Puerto Ricans would want to continue being a US colony, Puerto Rico would still be obligated to accept her sovereignty to then decide what she wants to do.
The only thing these plebiscites are good for is to divide Puerto Ricans. A Puerto Rican didn’t invade us to make us a colony. When will we understand that we need to unite?
This is why we must peacefully protest at least 3 times a year until Puerto Rico is decolonized!
