Blogger Miss Marzipan has been so kind to nominate me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thank you, and all the best for your fine blog in 2013!

1. Today, two ring-necked parakeets flew up from the ground, just a few meter in front of me.
2. I have seen ring-necked parakeets in their native Gambia.
3. I have seen thousands of them flying to trees to spend the night.
4. I see them often opposite my window.
5. This morning, I saw geese in a meadow from the train. Not sure whether they were gray leg geese or white-fronted geese.
6. Often, a robin sings near my window.
7. It also sings in winter. Sometimes, during the night.
8. The weather is fairly good today, but is expected to worsen later in the week.
9. An osprey flies in my living room. Not a real one, but a cardboard life-size mobile.
10. It has a (cardboard) trout in its claws. It reminds me of the jungle river in Suriname on 12 February 2009. I quote from my blog then:

On the right bank, a capped heron standing on a tree which has fallen into the river. Suddenly, a big bird flies about two meters above the heron. It is an osprey with a fish in its claws.
