Hi! It’s looking like more & more bird species are wintering over in areas that would’ve been unheard of decades ago. It’s also true that individuals of any species have different temperature preferences. Personally, anything over 50F is too hot for me! Off to bed, air-conditioned, of course. Have a great day!
Really? Noting that. Getting some very odd range expansion here which is downright disturbing. Now that my peregrine fledge project is pretty much done, I’m going to follow up on my Common/Mexican Black Hawk sighting more. ‘bye for now….

Not all sanderlings winter in warm areas like Florida or Africa. Some stay in colder areas like the Wadden Sea.

Hi, I am not sure are about sanderlings in this. But some of the black-tailed godwits which used to winter in Africa, winter in Spain or Portugal now.
