SAUDI ARABIA: Two fighter jets, one Saudi and one French, collided in mid-air during joint air force drills in the Gulf kingdom on Saturday, but no-one was injured.

The French Mirage aircraft and the Saudi F-15 crashed into each other after taking off from Tabuk air force base in northern Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi pilot and the two French airmen ejected from their planes and parachuted to safety.

Saudi authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
