  1. Protesters target US diplomats

PALESTINE: Protesters confronted a US diplomatic delegation visiting the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

They blocked a convoy of vehicles, chanting: “Shame on you” and hurling a shoe.

The US envoys, including employees of the country’s consulate in Jerusalem, were on their way to a US reception in Ramallah meant to reaffirm cultural and educational ties with the Palestinian people.

Palestinians are disgusted at the US vow to block the Palestinian Authority bid to receive full membership of the UN and a Congress decision to block $200 million (£130m) in economic assistance to the PA.

    • Hi Sharmishtha Basu, welcome to the comment boxes here!

Maybe it will surprise people who so far have believed in the corporate pro-Blair propaganda on the Iraq war, which claimed the war was all about finding nuclear weapons in Iraq, bringing democracy etc. blah blah blah.

  35. During the embargo years on Iraq Kufi Annan and his son made millions in commissions ,United Nation reports, the cover up..Iraqi oil was sold in the black market .You can read the news between 1998-2002.Best regards. Jalal Michael

  36. Hi Jalal Michael, thank you!

The embargo years are not the same as the Iraq war which started in 2003; though they are both about Iraq.

    Best regards to you!
