  1. Rally in honour of killed campaigner

MOROCCO: About a thousand people rallied in Rabat on Sunday in the wake of the killing of a member of the country’s main opposition Islamist group.

Police fanned out in force for the protest but did not intervene to break it up, as they have during recent demonstrations in the Western-backed kingdom.

Many protesters waved posters showing Justice and Charity activist Kamal al-Amari, who was beaten to death a week ago in Safi as he participated in a demonstration pressing for sweeping constitutional reform.
